Swimming Pool and Pavilion Rules, approved May 19, 2011
Rule 6.1: General Operations:
a) The operating hours and dates of the Pool shall be posted at the Pool and on the Club’s
web site but are subject to change at the discretion of the Club.
b) The wading pool is open only during regular pool hours and is reserved for children under the age of seven who do not use the main Pool. Children using the wading pool shall be attended at all times.
c) The Aquatic staff has full authority to maintain conduct at the Pool so as to afford the maximum enjoyment for all swimmers.
Rule 6.2: Privileges:
a) Only Members, their authorized users, and guests are allowed to use the Pool.
b) Members, their authorized users, and guests shall sign in and establish eligibility each time they attend the Pool.
c) Guests must be accompanied by the inviting Member and each guest is allowed to visit seven times in a calendar year. The Member may be charged a Guest Fee. However, there will be no charge for immediate family members, grand- children of the Member when accompanied by a grandparent, guests visiting from out of Hall County, Georgia, or guests presenting a Club Guest Pass.
d) Parties and gatherings at the Pool Pavilion may be arranged through the Club’s Catering Department.
e) No food or beverage shall be brought into the Pool or Pavilion area at any time unless it is specifically for an infant.
Rule 6.3: Pool Rules:
a) No one may enter the Pool facility unless there is a lifeguard and Aquatic staff on duty.
b) The Aquatic staff has the authority to maintain conduct, enforce rules, and limit privileges for anyone violating the rules so as to maintain a safe swim environment for everyone.
c) Pool rules shall be posted and made available to everyone entering the Pool facility.
d) Bathers shall take a shower prior to entering the Pool.
e) Children under the age of eight years must be supervised by a parent or by a responsible guardian fourteen years or older. “Supervision” means an adult’s unbroken guidance and observation of the child while the child is in the Pool. Non-swimmers using personal floatation devices must be supervised at all times.
f) Children between the ages of 8 and 10 must pass a swim test (in addition of the orientation class set forth below), unassisted by any floatation devise, administered by the Aquatic staff before that child can be left unattended at the Pool. This test shall consist of:
i) Jumping in feet first into the water over the swimmer’s head.
ii) Swimming one length of the Pool unassisted.
iii) Jumping off of a diving board and swimming to the nearest ladder.
iv) Going down the slide and swimming to the nearest ladder or steps.
g) Children between the ages of 8 and 15 must successfully complete an orientation class administered by the Aquatic staff before that child can be left unattended at the Pool.
h) Upon the completion of the swim test and orientation class, as applicable, a parent leaving a child between the ages of 8 and 15 unsupervised at the Pool must:
(1) Sign in the child, rather than dropping the child off at the gate; and
(2) Leave their contact information on file with the Aquatic staff.
i) Children ages 15 and older may be asked to show proof of I.D. before using the Pool.
j) All floatation devices, other than personal floatation, must be approved by the Aquatic staff prior to use.
k) Untrained children shall wear swim diapers and rubber pants made specifically for the purpose of pool use. Any Pool user with a child who experiences a fecal accident, which results in a closure of the Pool, when the child was not wearing a swim diaper and rubber pants, shall be assessed $100 for each accident.
l) Bathing attire must be suitable for a family environment. Cut-off shorts are not permitted.
m) Persons with infectious diseases or that are sick are not permitted in the Pool.
n) Cell phones are allowed as long as they are used in a manner that is respectful to other Pool users.
o) In the event of thunder, the Pool will be closed and will remain so until thirty minutes has elapsed between claps of thunder. In the event of lightning, the Pool, the deck areas and the field adjacent to the Pool will be closed and will remain closed until the last sighting of lightning as determined by the Aquatic staff.
p) Glass and other breakable containers are not permitted in the Pool area. No food or beverages may be brought into the Pool facility unless it is specifically made for infants. Dining is limited to the Pavilion and upper patio.
q) Smoking in or around the Pool is not permitted.
r) Use of play items and toys shall be approved by the Aquatic staff prior to use.
s) Diving board rules shall be observed at all times and are available from the Aquatic staff. Swimming is not allowed in the diving area while the diving boards are in use.
t) Water slide rules shall be observed at all times and shall be posted and available from the Aquatic staff.
u) Member grandchildren shall be allowed to participate on Swim Team but non-members are not allowed on the Swim Team.
v) No running, pushing, dunking or other unruly conduct will be allowed.
w) Any user violating the rules shall be given a warning. A second violation will result in removal from the Pool for a period of time. A third violation results in the removal from the Pool facility. Usage of the Pool can begin again only after a meeting with the Member and Aquatic staff.
x) The Athletic Director and the Pool & Athletic Committee are charged by the Board of Governors to insure all rules are followed. Please help your Club by adhering to these rules.
